Dealey Plaza is a historic public space in downtown Dallas, Texas. It is best known as the site of President John F. Kennedy's assassination in 1963. The plaza is named after George Bannerman Dealey, a prominent local newspaper publisher and civic leader. Located in the West End Historic District, the plaza is bounded by Houston, Elm, and Main Streets, and is adjacent to the former Texas School Book Depository building. The plaza is a popular tourist destination, and it features a variety of memorials and monuments commemorating President Kennedy and his legacy. The plaza is also home to the John F. Kennedy Memorial, which was dedicated in 1970. Visitors to Dealey Plaza can take a walking tour of the area, visit the nearby Sixth Floor Museum, and explore the surrounding historic buildings and monuments.
